Conductor Plate Failure: The Sprinter Shift Fault Corona Shops Miss
Short answer
A failing Sprinter conductor plate causes harsh or delayed shifts, a dropped speedometer, and limp mode. It is a serviceable internal part, and confirming it with Xentry avoids an unnecessary and far more expensive transmission replacement.
What the conductor plate does
The conductor plate carries the speed sensors and shift solenoid wiring inside the transmission. When it fails you get erratic shifting, a speedometer that drops out, and a transmission that falls into a protective mode.
The costly misdiagnosis
Many owners are quoted a full transmission for symptoms the conductor plate causes. We confirm the fault with Xentry, replace the plate and the valve body connector that often leaks with it, and refill with the correct fluid to the proper level. That is a fraction of a transmission replacement.
